You may love your wife with all your heart, but does she know that? Does she feel that? Writing a love letter to your wife is a great way to give her a tangible expression of your love. A box of chocolates or a dozen roses might later be a fond memory or forgotten all together. A love letter is an enduring expression of love, sealed in an envelope. A love letter has the power to evoked emotions years after it was written.

Writing a love letter may seem like an overwhelming task, but it doesn’t have to be that way. A love letter is basically an outpouring, from the heart, to the one you love. It doesn’t need to be long or be full of flowery words, it just needs to be authentic and from the heart.

The best way to get started writing love letters to your wife is to slowly ease into it. Write a love note to your wife. A slip of paper with a sentence or two from the heart is a simple, but wonderful gift. It is also a great way to gauge your wife’s reaction. If your wife likes your love note, she would probably also enjoy a love letter from you. Seeing your wife’s pleasure in your love note can be the encouragement you need to expand your love note into a longer love letter.

Asking for feedback from your wife will also help. Ask her if she enjoyed your love note. Ask her how your love note made her feel. Ask her if your love note made her feel she was being romanced by you. Ask her if she would appreciate it if you expanded your love note into a longer love letter. By asking your wife about the love note, you are letting her know that you are making an effort to romance her.

After you have been encouraged by your wife to write more, start to expand the length of your love notes. Think about the love notes that you have written your wife. Each has been a short expression of what you love and appreciate about your wife. Take a simple romantic thought and instead of just writing what you appreciate about your wife also tell her why. Tell your wife how that makes you feel. Here is an example:

Love note

I love looking at you. You, my love, are a joy to behold.

Love letter

Sweetheart, I love looking at you. You are a joy to behold. You have such a beautiful smile. It is full of warmth and it lights up the room. I love the twinkle in your eye, when you look at me. It lets me know I am not only loved, but also the object of your passion and desire. I love the way you move. You are graceful and full of confidence. I love your wonderful figure and appreciate your efforts to stay fit and active. After all these years, seeing you in a sexy dress still wows me. You are a beautiful woman and a joy to my eyes.

In the above example, a 13-word love note was expanded into a 110-word love letter. While this sample love letter could have easily been expanded further, it is certainly very nice in its current form. As you get more comfortable writing love letters to your wife, the length of your love letters will likely increase. You will probably find you have more that you want to share with your wife and you will find it easier to express yourself.
